Love Downtown Flagstaff 7 Day Challenge!

Help us support and celebrate our wonderful small businesses in Downtown Flagstaff during the “Love Downtown Flagstaff” 7 day challenge! We are giving you 7 different ways to support our downtown businesses starting May 1st-May 7th. During this week, we ask that you dine at one of the many outdoor patios, stop by your favorite downtown retailer, or even try somewhere you haven’t been to in Downtown Flagstaff. The options are endless! In addition, that week is filled with many special days such as teacher appreciation day, Cinco De Mayo, National Nurses day, and MORE!

Day 1: Attend Yoga on the Lawn and Grab Breakfast Downtown

Meet us Saturday, May 1st at 9am in front of the County Courthouse Lawn (219 E. Cherry Ave) for Yoga on the Lawn “Physical Distancing Style” with the amazing Holly White!

Day 2: Find the Perfect Gift for Mother’s Day

Spoil your Mom this Mother’s Day! If you’re still looking for that perfect gift, look no further. We came up with a list of some creative gifts for Mother’s Day. Day 3: Purchase Coffee & Pastries from Your Favorite Coffee Shop

Monday mornings are for coffee runs, right?! So many downtown coffee shops have homemade pastries, hot beverages and even coffee beans so you can make that cup of joe at home! You can see a full list of downtown coffee shops by clicking here! 

Day 4: Teacher Appreciation Day

One gift idea for Teacher Appreciation Day is to get your favorite teacher all the sweets! We have some great chocolate/candy stores downtown including Flagstaff Chocolate Company and The Sweet Shoppe Candy Store. Both stores have so many options to choose from. You’re sure to find that perfect gift for your teacher! 

Day 5: Celebrate Cinco De Mayo and Happy Hour Downtown

Don’t miss out on celebrating Cinco De Mayo at one of your favorite restaurants downtown! There are so many locations to enjoy downtown, but as a starting point, check out Alejandro’s Mexican Food! Their new location at Heritage Square is officially open. OR grab a margarita at Bandoleros 66! They are celebrating “Cinco de weeko” with half off margaritas! 

 

Day 6: Recognize our Health Hero’s for National Nurses Day

There are so many wonderful health heros to show our gratitude for! One gift idea is this funny nurses mug from Black Hound Gallerie which is located inside the Old Town Shops. OR another amazing gift idea would be to brighten their day with a bouquet from Sutcliffe Floral. PLUS! You can have the flowers delivered. Day 7: Surprise a friend with a present for “Acts of Kindness Day!”

By shopping local in Downtown Flagstaff, you have contributed to the well-being of our community and made a few people very happy along the way. Today, show someone in your life that you are grateful for them. Bring them to the “Acts of Kindness Day” display at Heritage Square beginning at 10am on Friday, May 7th. Everyone is welcome to stop by to receive an unexpected gesture of kindness! Discover Flagstaff will be handing out free goodies such as a long stem flower, stickers, and the official Flagstaff Visitor Guide. It’s the perfect way to end off the 7 day challenge, and to make that special someone smile!
