Explore the work of great artists with us on the 1st Tuesday of every month. This month's artist is Andrew Wyeth and his family!

Andrew Wyeth’s first exhibition was held in the Art Alliance of Philadelphia in 1936, when he was just nineteen years old. A year later, he had his first New York showing at the prestigious MacBeth Gallery. In the years that followed, Andrew traveled between Pennsylvania and Maine, developing what would become his signature realist painting style. “In today’s scrambled-egg school of art,” wrote one journalist, in 1963, “[Andrew] Wyeth stands out as a wild-eyed radical. For the people he paints wear their noses in the usual place, and the weathered barns and bare-limbed trees in his starkly simple landscapes are more real than reality.”

This program will be held in-person in the Downtown Library Community Room and virtually on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81071700032
