Wondering what to do with no Snow? We've got you covered!

You may notice something peculiar about the streets of downtown Flagstaff right now…there's no snow!

However just because we are having a slow start to the snow season doesn't mean there is a lack of activities for you to enjoy here in Flagstaff! Even without the whiteout aspect of this winter season, which is sure to come soon enough, our community calendar is full of great events to keep you entertained this January.

Though there is no snow sticking to the streets you can still enjoy one of the most classic winter activities, ice skating! There is a FREE ice skating rink at the Flagstaff visitor center open daily until January 7th weekdays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bring the kiddos along for a family outing at the rink and head to one of our many downtown restaurants! 

Brightside Bookshop is having a unique event on January 8th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.! This puzzle exchange event is a simple concept, bring a puzzle and in turn bring home a different, unique puzzle! This is a fun way to connect with your community while bringing home something to do on those brisk days where you prefer to stay inside. While you’re there peruse their book selection for a new read! 

It may be too cold outside for you to have the desire to exercise outdoors, so why not exercise your mind indoors at weekly trivia on Thursdays at both Hops on Birch and Dark Sky’s Beer Garden! Test your knowledge while competing against other teams to see who has the best knowledge on obscure topics! Not only is this a fun activity to include into your weekly routine but you’ll be supporting local businesses that make up the heart of Flagstaff! If Thursday is a packed day for you, Drinking Horn Meadery and Brews & Cues offer trivia every Wednesday night! 

If you’d prefer a more relaxing night head over to Oeno every Thursday night to expand your palette! Wine tasting night is a great opportunity to catch up with friends on a chilly night. Try and learn about four different wines from a professional wine representative!

The Orpheum is hosting a “Shrek Yourself Swamp Party” on January 13th at 9 p.m. This dance party will include music by DJ Granger and  Shrek dance off! Come dressed in your best fairytale attire and enjoy drink specials all night long until you're too swamped to continue! This event is 18+. On January 20th the Juice Pub will be hosting “It is Fair!”, an artists community market. Discover local artists and support their trade! Present will be their unique creations available for purchase form 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Delve into local artistry and enjoy a snack or beverage from the Juice Pub’s wildly delicious menu!
