Downtown Flagstaff is where to be this summer! Downtown gives host to a wide range of events, where you can find something for everyone! From the health conscience to the movie critic, there is plenty to enjoy and the better part is most of it is free!

 

Kicking off the summer is Movies on the Square.

Each summer we present Movies on the Square which is a FREE, family friendly evening on Heritage Square! Movies begin  Memorial Day Weekend (May 27th) and finish up Labor Day Weekend (Sept 2nd). They are held every Saturday evening through the summer. The fun starts at 4pm with entertainment from the community and music. Movies begin at dusk, usually between 7:30pm and 8:00pm. We have a great list of family friendly titles ranging from new blockbusters to classic movies. Memorial day weekend starts off the season with a showing of Coco. Other movies to expect include Jumanji (2017), Star Wars, Zootopia

The 9th annual Flagstaff Hullabaloo festival returns June 2nd and 3rd at Wheeler Park. They strive to celebrate the community in a responsible and fun atmosphere that both families and funksters can enjoy. Festival Events include The bike parade, crazy costume contest, kids area, local vendor showcase, and much more!

Back for their 18th season, the Flagstaff Community Market will happen every Sunday through May 6-October 21st from 8am-noon. They focus on connecting growers and consumers and encourage people in growing more of their own food. The Market is great way to spend a sunday morning that provides a relaxed, educational, and fun environment.

Kicking off June 9th, Flagstaff Urban Flea Market returns every 2nd Saturday of the Month from 9am-2pm at City Hall parking lot (211 W. Aspen). Here you are able to find a variety of goods such as antiques, food, handmade woodwork and leatherwork, household goods, toys, jewelry, and much more! This is not something to be missed! With it easily walkable, enjoy the eclectic mix of artisans and peddlers that Flagstaff has to offer.

Just for kids! Kids Squared is a FREE, fun and educational program for children ranging from 2-12. Events take place every Wednesday from 10-11am from June 7 through August 9th in Heritage Square. Some events include a Steppin’ Up and Movement Class, science experiments with Lowell Observatory, Pottery classes, and many more!

Friday nights are for music! The Summer Concert Series begins May 26th and runs through September 8th. The Summer Concert Series is a celebration of music and dance featuring FREE concerts by local and regional artists. Come by Heritage Square throughout the summer from 6-8pm for some great performances.

First Friday ArtWalk is one of Northern Arizona’s premier arts events. Each first Friday of the month, art galleries and businesses in historic Downtown Flagstaff open their doors from 6-9pm with special art exhibitions, performances, live music, treats and much much more. Many downtown hot spots remain open after 9 pm as the ArtWalk celebrations continue. The ArtWalk is one of those events that both locals and out-of-towners attend and enjoy!

Every Wednesdays downtown, there is a thriving workout scene. Meet Me Downtown brings adults and families to downtown Flagstaff for a weekly social walk/run, engaging individuals and businesses in a vibrant event that showcases downtown Flagstaff as a prime location for healthy activities. This is a great event for the whole family, even your furry ones. Starting at Heritage Square at 5:15pm, you then enjoy a walk/run through downtown. They hold a closing ceremony at 6:30pm where they give awards and have a free raffle for restaurant and other business gift certificates. After that you can enjoy dinner at a discount at several Meet Me restaurants!

Last but certainly not least, there will be another summer season of Yoga on the Lawn! It is held every Wednesday evening at 6pm, and every Saturday at 9am hosted by Holly White.
