Lumberyard Brewing Co. Wins Silver at the 2025 World Beer Cup
Raise your glass, Flagstaff! There’s something special brewing at Lumberyard Brewing Co.!
On May 1st, Lumberyard took home a silver medal at the prestigious 2025 World Beer Cup for their beloved Railhead Red in the Extra Special Bitter category. Often referred to as the “Olympics of Beer,” this global competition saw over 8,000 entries from 1,761 breweries across 49 countries, making this recognition a monumental win.
Railhead Red is a flagship brew for Lumberyard - rich in red color, balanced with crystal and caramel malts, and a nod to Flagstaff’s railroad history. This latest award marks the third World Beer Cup silver for Railhead Red (previously awarded in 2010 and 2014) and adds to Lumberyard’s impressive legacy of 15 total medals across the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival.
“Winning a Silver at the World Beer Cup is an incredible honor,” said Gene Almquist, Director of Brewing. “To stand out among that caliber of talent is a testament to the passion, dedication, and skill of our entire brew team.”
Cheers to Lumberyard Brewing Co for putting Flagstaff on the world beer map, one pint at a time. 🍻
