Give Back this Holiday Season!
Category: Downtown Blog
The holidays are upon us, and there is no better time than now to give back! Bring joy to someone this holiday season by participating in one of the many Downtown Flagstaff donation opportunities!
Giving Tree Opportunities:
1. Tourist Home has an “Adopt a Senior” tree in partnership with Coconino County Health and Human Services. Adopt a senior and donate items such as blankets, socks, and grocery gift cards to fill their holidays with cheer!
2. Rainbow’s End is working with Sharon Manor to help bring joy into the lives of children who have survived domestic violence and homelessness. Visit Rainbow’s End, pick an ornament off of the tree, and purchase a gift for a child in need. All donations will be given directly to children living at Sharon Manor!
3. Stop by Mountain Sports or Shoes and Such and check out their Giving Trees! Both businesses are partnering with Northland Family Help Center to help support and give back to families experiencing homelessness. Take a tag off of the tree and provide a family with something they need this holiday season.
Other Donation Opportunities:
1. Old Barrel Tea Company is collecting donations to help give back to Flagstaff Shelter Services. Every dollar helps and Old Barrel is making it super easy to contribute by allowing you to add any amount to your tab while shopping at their store! Flagstaff Shelter Services is an incredible cause with a goal to eliminate homelessness in Coconino County. Visit today and help make a difference!
2. Bright Side Bookshop is hosting a holiday book drive! Donate any new or gently used books and all donations will be given to the Flagstaff Literacy Center. Shopping for a new read for yourself or your loved ones? Pick up an extra copy at Bright Side Bookshop and contribute to the drive!
3. Support the Flagstaff Family Food Center this holiday season! Late for the Train is partnering with the Flagstaff Family Food Center by putting on the "Giving Advent Box Fundraiser"! This is a great opportunity to donate grocery items to a family in need. The box can include any non-perishable items including canned fruits, pasta, and canned soups! Visit Late for the Train for more information on how you can participate!
4. The Flagstaff Visitor's Center is also participating in the "Giving Advent Box" with the Flagstaff Family Food Center! Along with this, they are also collecting donations for the local law enforcement toy drive, which spreads holiday cheer by giving toys to kids whose families cannot afford them. This toy drive is in partnership with the Shadows Foundation, which provides financial support for individuals affected by life-threatening diseases.
There is truly no better feeling than giving back to others in need. During this season of giving, Downtown Flagstaff has so many opportunities to give back to deserving individuals and organizations. Visit Downtown Flagstaff and give someone in need the gift of joy and cheer this holiday season!
