6 Ways to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Downtown Flagstaff!

Independence Day is shaping up to be great this year in Downtown Flagstaff. With a year of lockdowns behind us, let’s celebrate the summer with a bang! Check out our list of fun activities and events happening this weekend in Downtown Flagstaff, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! 

1. First Friday ArtWalk

The First Friday ArtWalk kicks off the festive weekend on Friday, July 2nd from 6pm-9pm. This month, there are so many galleries and businesses to explore that are showcasing local artists, live music, and more! There will be additional activity in Heritage Square from the Azulita project and a vaccination station provided by Coconino County. 2. Explore Live Music in Downtown Flagstaff

Firecreek Coffee Company

Local favorite band, Righteous Harmony, will be hosting a free show at Firecreek Coffee Company on Friday, July 2nd starting at 7:30pm. Stop by on Friday night for some coffee and amazing tunes! 

The Orpheum Theater

Fourth of July weekend is full of events for the family, but how about a night out for Mom and Dad? The Orpheum Theater will feature beloved band Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers Friday July 2nd & Saturday July 3rd. Grab your tickets on the Orpheum website soon, they can sell out quickly!

The Annex Cocktail Lounge 

The Borrowers from Lake Havasu, NV will be rocking the stage at The Annex Cocktail Lounge July 2nd at 9pm. This fresh and original independent rock band brings the experience so get ready to Rock N’ Roll! 

Flagstaff Brewing Company

Viola, and the Breakman will be performing at Flagstaff Brewing Company patio from 2pm-5pm on July 4th! Stop by their patio, grab a brew, and listen to some music inspired by the Southwest.

 

3. Run the Downtown Mile

Grab your running shoes, because the Downtown Mile is back! Join one of Flagstaff’s best summer traditions this Saturday, July 3rd at Heritage Square. The schedule for Saturday is as follows: 

7:00am - Citizen’s Race, Men

7:20am - Citizen’s Race, Women

7:40am - Men’s Elite

7:50am - Women’s Elite

Registration is open for the Downtown Mile, presented by Team Run Flagstaff, and the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce. You can find the race registration, volunteer sign-up, and all the details you need HERE!

4. 2021 Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce Independence Day Parade 

Fireworks may not be in the cards this year, but there are still plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day, like The 4th of July Parade! The parade will happen this year on July 3rd from 9am-11am in Downtown Flagstaff, presented by the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce. Starting at Elm & Beaver, it will go south down Beaver, turn left on Aspen to San Francisco, and north on San Francisco back to Elm. There will be an abundance of floats for you and your family to see. Make sure to show up early as spots to view the parade go quickly! 5. Movies on the Square

This Flagstaff staple is officially back! Movies on the Square returns to Heritage Square on Saturday, July 3rd with a free showing of Pixar’s “Soul.” Before the movie, enjoy a live performance from local musician, Ryan Biter, and a free glow stick giveaway provided by Discover Flagstaff. 6. Flagstaff Community Market 

End your weekend by grabbing some local produce and goodies and The Flagstaff Community Market. They have officially started their 21st season in Downtown Flagstaff! The Farmers Market takes place every Sunday through October 17th from 8am-12pm at the City Hall Parking lot (211 W. Aspen Ave). Stop by and explore all the fantastic local vendors!
