Founded by master barber Nicholas Calvanese, The Classic Barber brings more than 20 years of experience and tradition-driven barbering to Downtown Flagstaff. Trained in Philadelphia and shaped by classic barbershops across the country, including Florida, Minnesota, and San Francisco, Nicholas honed his craft under respected mentors and in historic, traditional settings.
His career has included work in film, theater, and historic reenactments, reinforcing a deep respect for time-honored techniques and personal service. After years of experience and careful planning, Nicholas and his wife, Moxie, opened The Classic Barber with a simple goal: to create a small, intimate shop where craftsmanship, connection, and community come first.
At The Classic Barber, every guest is treated like family, and every cut reflects the values of classic barbering: precision, tradition, and care.
