10 Years of Downtown Lovin’
Britni Montague is the General Manager of Mountain Sports and a lover of all things Downtown Flagstaff. Originally from Denver Colorado, Britni moved up to Flagstaff in 2005 to study Spanish at NAU. Britni has been working for Mountain Sports for 10 years, originally starting at the Life is Good Store which is what Mountain Sports used to be. Her favorite part of the job is having an extended family with the staff who are all incredible, as well as representing such well-known, quality brands like Patagonia. She also loves the customers and says they are the ones who make Mountain Sports what it truly is!
Britni loves being apart of the downtown community. She says, “It really is a community that our local Flagstaff resident’s support and it’s a major tourist destination.” She also loves all the events that happen around town. “As the years go on, they just get better and better which is awesome.”
While Flagstaff is a beautiful four-season destination, Britni loves winter. “Everyone is happy around the holidays, downtown is decorated, and it's really cute. Plus people are coming up here to ski or play in the snow and have fun.”
She also goes on to say that summer is another charming season in Flagstaff. “That's when we get a lot of people coming for the Grand Canyon and river trips. We also have a beautiful summer here; it never gets too hot.”
Britni explains how people come into Mountain Sports to shop, but to ask for recommendations of where to eat and shop around. “We love Pato Thai, and Criollo is always a great option because they have a rad happy and their margaritas are delicious,” Britni says. As for shopping, “when we have people looking for more trendy stuff, we recommend the Old Town Shops or Shoes and Such. As far as other sporting good stores and products, I would recommend, Babbitts, Aspen Sports and Peace Surplus.”
Next time you are in Flagstaff, Arizona, make sure you stop by the great locations that Britni recommends, then head over to Mountain Sports to give her a friendly Flagstaff hello!
