More than 60 Navajo grandmothers, mothers, and daughters in 21 families participated in the project that became the book Voices of Navajo Mothers and Daughters: Portraits of Beauty, just released by Flagstaff-based Soulstice Publishing. In a series of intimate, revelatory personal histories, they opened up about how they have been shaped by powerful cultural and historical forces—and by their love for each other.

Two women who took part in this project will join author Kathy Eckles Hooker for a reading, discussion, and booksigning at Bright Side Bookshop on June 16, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Celebrate and learn more about the lives of Navajo women at this special presentation!

This event is free and open to the public.
