Join us for an evening of poetry, performance, and playful revelry as William Shakespeare is honored in true Bardic fashion.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 6–8 PM, Uptown Pubhouse transforms into a living stage, celebrating the legacy of the world’s most iconic playwright alongside special guest Julie Hammonds, author of “Blue Mountain Rose: A Novel in Five Acts.”
Hosted by Taylor Salazar, the evening unfolds like a play in four acts:
An opening performance sets the tone, followed by a dramatic reading and featured selections from “Hamlet,” paired with passages from “Blue Mountain Rose.” Guests will have the chance to engage with Julie Hammonds during a brief Q&A.
Then, the stage is yours.
Step into the spotlight for a Shakespeare Open Mic, compete in a lively Sonnet Slam, or sharpen your wit in a Shakespearean Insult Contest where clever words reign supreme. Whether you come to perform or simply to revel in the spectacle, all are welcome to play a part.
The evening concludes with a final toast and farewell monologue, followed by time to mingle, raise a glass, and celebrate the enduring magic of storytelling.
