Sound & Sanātana Dharma: A Sound Meditation & Yoga Philosophy Workshop
Join us at Northern Arizona Yoga Center for Sound & Sanātana Dharma, an immersive workshop with Śunya (Jan Michael) exploring the relationship between ancient yogic philosophy, sound meditation, and modern therapeutic sound practices.

Rooted in the teachings of Sanātana Dharma, this experiential workshop introduces participants to the philosophical and energetic foundations of sound as understood in traditional yogic traditions. Through ritual, discussion, and meditation, we will explore how sacred sound can support awareness, healing, and personal integration.

What You Will Experience
Śiva Pūjā (Sacred Ritual Practice)

Begin the workshop with a traditional ritual honoring Śiva, representing transformation, stillness, and the meditative state central to yogic practice.

The Five Elements & AUM in Yogic Philosophy

A guided discourse on the Pañcha Mahābhūtas (the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space) and the deeper meaning of AUM, the primordial sound vibration described in yogic and Vedic texts.

Śruti Sound Meditation

A seated listening meditation focused on subtle sound awareness, designed to cultivate deep presence and inner stillness.

Integration & Group Dialogue

Time for reflection, questions, and conversation about integrating sound meditation and yogic philosophy into personal practice, teaching, and everyday life.
