Join us for a 2 day immersive exhibition between artists, Jill Sans and Jessica Worthington, current resident artists at The HeArt Box. Emergence is a collection of paintings woven together with an experiential installation of a soothing, surreal landscape; leading us through the emergence of light from the dark. We invite our community to join us, engage and contribute to our wishing pot, make a wish, intention or prayer to leave and later be released into the ethers.

Emergence
The darkness has its teachings, a special time of deep wisdom birthing within from the unknowing spaces of self. Allowing for connections of past, long overdue conversations, communing with our ancestors. The slowness allows for the quiet whispers of truth to carry forward, a time of reflection. Moving from the darkness of winter into the new spring life, the days get warmer, the ground thaws and life emerges from below. Plants programmed to grow, the cycle of life returns. We too sprout, breaking through the layers and stepping into the light with courage and wonder. Standing, emerging with a renewal of strength, a rekindling of spark. Through my own winter, silently reflecting on where I have been and where I want to go with no time to waste. Coming forward in whole body devotion to my craft, the gifts that were given to me before birth. I emerge as the artist I am, the one that has always been hidden within. She stands before you in her light. Aligning with the stars, the moon and walking along side with the sun; Longing to touch the water again and feel the bare feet upon the dirt. The spirit emerges.

Jill Sans is a painter, cosmetic tattooer, curator and owner of The HeArt Box Gallery in Flagstaff and has been working in the business of art for over 15 years. After receiving her BFA from Northern Arizona University, she has remained in Flagstaff working to build a viable art community for herself and other emerging artists. Jill is currently pursuing a full-time career as a painter, furthering her knowledge of art and healing while exploring the possibilities of how art is shared.

Jessica Worthington, also known here at The HeArt Box for the jewelry of JMajella has shifted focus this year and returned back to her love for immersive installations and interactive objects by creating a soothing, surreal landscape that amplifies the light, emerging into the ethers. Voices of prayer being carried to the stars.

Jessica Worthington uses storytelling through symbolic imagery at the core of her work. Influenced and inspired by folklore, fairytales, tarot cards, and surrealism installations are dreamy landscapes of imagination and places unknown. She uses universal symbols, which at their essence are representative of the human experience, as relatable narrators. Jessica’s work explores the beliefs of the afterlife, magic, sexuality, gender (roles and identity), dreams and dream states.
