2026 Call for Musicians
The Flagstaff Downtown Business Alliance is looking for musicians to be part of our fifth annual summer of Music on the Square! Solo acts and groups are encouraged to apply!
Performance Dates & Times:
Emerging Artist Wednesdays & Thursdays | 5:00pm – 7:00pm | May 27 – September 10
Sundays in the Square | 12:00pm – 2:00pm | May 24 – September 6
All performances are in Heritage Square.
Performance Details:
- All performances must be family-friendly and appeal to all ages.
- Preference will be given to local artists from the greater Flagstaff area.
Performance Payment:
Wednesdays & Thursdays: No stipend, but a great opportunity to gain exposure and perform in Heritage Square free of charge.
Sundays: Small stipends will be provided based on group size & performance length.
All performers (Wednesday, Thursday, & Sunday) may:
- Have a tip jar
- Sell merchandise
- Promote other performances
The Flagstaff Downtown Business Alliance covers all permit costs for performances in Heritage Square.
Performance Equipment:
Musicians must provide their own sound equipment – power will be available.
Weather & Performance Conditions
Please note that some performance locations do not have built-in shade. During warmer summer dates, we strongly encourage musicians to bring umbrellas, pop-up tents, or other appropriate sun protection to ensure comfort and safety while performing.
All performances are weather dependent. In the event of rain, thunderstorms, or other unsafe conditions, the Downtown Flagstaff team will assess the situation and make cancellation decisions as needed. Performers will be notified as far in advance as possible if a performance must be canceled due to weather.
