Bike to Work Week Is Here!

Warmer weather has finally arrived, which means more people are hopping on their bikes to enjoy the trails and roads in and around Flagstaff. Starting in a couple days on Sunday, May 20th until Friday, May 25th, the tenth annual Bike to Work Week will be in full swing with a full week of activities for locals and visitors to enjoy! This event is the perfect time for people to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather, as well as learn more about how cycling can positively impact our town.
 
There are many activities for Bike to Work Week happening in and around downtown Flagstaff, staring off Sunday in Heritage Square with Bike Bazaar from 9am-1pm. Activities will include a bike and gear swap, $10 helmets for children and adults, and of course the 16th annual Human-Powered Parade, which starts at 11:30am.

Another fun and more challenging activity one can participate is on Thursday, May 24th for the "Mars Hill Challenge Ride" at Lowell Observatory. You’ve probably heard of the paved half mile road from Thorpe Park to the beautiful overlook close to Lowell Observatory. Well, that’s the road cyclists will embark on! If you decide to take on this hill up to Lowell between 10am and 5pm, you will win a FREE admit one pass to Lowell Observatory and a refreshing bottle of water. All you have to do is show your bike helmet to the front desk of the Visitors Center when you reach the top.
