Family Activities Downtown

Downtown Flagstaff is the perfect destination for families, and offers a variety of activities for children of all ages!

No matter what time of the year it is, Downtown Flagstaff offers a variety of family friendly events. During the spring and summer season, Movies on the Square is hosted Saturday at Heritage Square. Each evening begins with entertainment from the community and music until the Movie starts at dusk. It’s the perfect way to spend your Saturday evening with the family!

Another event downtown is Kids Squared, which is a free, fun and educational program at Heritage Square every Wednesday from 10-11am! Come dance on the square with Canyon Dance Academy, with styles from jazz and hip hop to creative movement and modern! This event is free for kids aged 2-12 and runs from June 7th through August 9th.

Meet Me Downtown Flagstaff is another family-friendly event that happens all year round! MMDF is a social run/walk that brings adults and families together in a vibrant event that showcases downtown Flagstaff as a prime location for healthy activities. The event is held every Wednesday, rain or shine, starting at 6:30pm in Heritage Square. After the event a raffle is held where you can win amazing prizes!

Once the trees start changes colors and fall begins, Halloween Harvest is another event that is perfect for families. The event is free to all and takes place in Heritage Square and throughout downtown from 4-7pm on October 31st.  Festivities include carnival games, arts and crafts, a BOOgie dance party and a freaky fashion show including pets! There is also a trick-or-treat trail with over 35 stops.

When winter rolls around, Downtown Flagstaff offers many events that will put your family in the Christmas spirit! Events include:

Breakfast with Santa at the Weatherford Hotel

Winter Wonderland in Heritage Square

Winter Movie Series at The Orpheum

Luminaria Stroll throughout downtown

Ice Skating Rink at The Visitors Center
